“I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
It's something we are all touched by.”

Songwriters/Musicians Needed

As a musician/songwriter, you possess a great power and the ability to bestow a priceless gift through your talents. Through music, people are transported to certain periods and moments in their lives. For the most part, these moments are happy occasions. But sometimes music can offer more than pleasant reflection—it can provide healing to families who have experienced pain and grief due to the stillbirth, miscarriage or illness of their precious baby.

Thomas Carlyle once wrote, “Music is well said to be the speech of angels.” We are offering you a chance to contribute to the voices of these tiny, precious angels.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization that exists to assist families suffering an early infant loss. Since it’s inception in early 2005, more than 3000 professional photographers have joined the organization to provide parents of terminally ill or stillborn babies with beautiful, heirloom portraits of their children. Theses images, put on a DVD and enhanced with music, are treasured for a lifetime.

NILMDTS has grown beyond the borders of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.nowisleep.com/ /><st1:country-region w:st=US and also includes photographers in Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Israel and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New Zealand. All services donated to this cause are on a volunteer basis, and all proceeds go directly to this organization to help parents who are experiencing an early infant loss. The mission of NILMDTS is to introduce bereavement photography to families suffering the loss of a baby and to help them in their healing journey. NILMDTS offers a vital service to our communities through the gift of gentle and beautiful photography and slideshow services. This incredible multimedia DVD, delivered in a compassionate and sensitive manner, is the heart of this organization.

Due to copyright laws and the infringement of illegal use of music, NILMDTS is searching for interested songwriters and musicians who are looking for a way to help parents and families heal a broken heart. We hope to find musicians who want to help families honor and cherish their babies and share in the spirits of their brief lives.

Please consider helping us by providing NILMDTS with music, so parents can share the images of their baby’s brief sojourn here on earth with beautiful and meaningful melodies.

If this concept touches your heart, and you would like to learn more information about NILMDTS and the services we provide to these special families, please visit our website at www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org or contact us at 877-834-5667. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.

Cheryl, I have a friend who is a songwriter and C&W singer in the Texas music circuit. I only just this morning saw your post and have copied it into an email that I sent to her. Not sure if she will be able to help yet, but I asked her to contact you if she is interested. Please let me know if she contacts you - her name is Shana Valdes. Thanks and good luck!!

Olivea Dewhurst-Maddock, Sound Therapy
"Healing relies on an openness to the whole; a willingness to relinquish whatever frustrates or delays -- mistaken ideas, negative feelings, poor diet, inadvisable lifestyle -- and to accept a wider spectrum of responses with new ideas, experience, and priorities. Healing is communication; and music, in its universal nature, is total communication. In the deepest mysteries of music are the inspirations, the pathways, and the healing which lead to one-ness and unity."

Hal A. Lingerman
"Just as certain selections of music will nourish the physical body and your emotional layer, so other musical works will bring greater health to your mind."
