This morning, July 27, 2006, I had a call from Ashli Sims, a health reporter for NEWS ON 6 KOTV, asking if I would do an interview about a session from NILMDTS. I called a family and asked if they would be willing to be interviewed, and then called Ashli back and gave her the information. To make a long story short, the story aired this evening, 7-27-06!!!

NOW, the unbelievable part...... CNN just called and wants my release, they have picked up the story and going to run it on their HEADLINE NEWS. Don't know what time or when. Will try to let you know the particulars later.

This was not a good session to be aired as the images were very limited. The mother had been biten by a fiddle back spider, apparently causing the baby's death. It was dead for two days before being delivered, and an hour after birth, the skin was coming off, only allowing me to photograph the feet and face. The main thing..... it was picked up by CNN.

Loy, I watched your interview. Great job to you!
I know how the mother felt to be interviewed about her precious baby.
This is what it is all about!!!! You all, as photographers, and the families you are able to reach out to, to help create these beautiful memories.
My heart swelled, when at the end, CJ's mommy said, that she feels that she is able to move on now, by having his memory captured....

Still waiting to hear something from CNN. From what Robin said, I was expecting it to be aired yesterday, Friday the 27th.

Forgive me for posting an unrelated message on this forum, but still having trouble navigating!

Last week a grateful couple mailed me a personal check as a way of saying "thank you" for portraits taken of their enfant. I immediately returned it with thanks of my own. Somehow I felt smug and a bit insincere. is that normal or am I just smug and a bit insincere?

I spoke to a person at CNN Midwest Region. The lady that contacted me is named Robin, and I was told yesterday, that Robin is a part time person or a free lancer. I inquired about the status of the story, and the gentlman said he did recall the story and it had great impact, but it had not airs as of yet. He knew nothing of the status of when or if it would run. Sorry about the big buildup, hopefully it will air sometime.
