Sandy,
I am a children's photographer who has just lost a full term baby who was stillborn due to a cord accident July14th. I knew about NILMDTS before and had planned to join as a volunteer after my baby was born. Now I have the sad experience of knowing first-hand just how meaningful this work is. I had a photographer there whose plan was to photograph James' birth. Instead, she documented our only time with him, and there is nothing anyone could ever give any mother who has lost a child that is more valuable than these images. We designated NILMDTS as our charity of choice in lieu of flowers in his obituary and when I pull myself together a little more, I want to volunteer as well. I have put my business on hold for now, but I think volunteering is one way I can help myself get through this, find some way to repay what Tiffany did for us, find some meaning and substance to my child's death, which right now is so bewildering and heartbreaking I can barely stand it.
I just wanted to share with you how meaningful this work is, from one photographer to another, and from the perspective of a bereaved mother as well. Thank you for all that you do.
