So I finallty received my autopsy reports back that our our passed due to his kidneys failing. And that took place because the placenta was abnormally inplanted. So I go to my Ob and aask what test we can run on me to prevent this, he says nothing, we will just give you asprin to help the placenta develop. Am I crazy or is there more I need to know. Because I dont wanna let it go and more can be done to prevent this in the future.

I think I would definitely get a second opinion or maybe a different doctor could at least give you a better explanation then just will give you an aspirin a day...

When my wife and I lost our little girl at full term, our doctor's answers to many of the questions we had were sometimes contradictory, confusing, and in several cases not very helpful. All through the pregnancy we had lots of questions... it's just because of who we are. But time after time she just told us not to worry. In the end we did have cause to worry though.
We switched doctors for our subsequent pregnancy and it was like night and day. The new doctor was more than helpful and always willing to fully explain things to us in detail. I can't say enough that you shouldn't be worried about switching doctors if you have the slightest concern/question.

I agree. A second opinion would be helpful. I was told that they could not measure the placenta (mine was VERY small with Jayden, and possibly with my living daughter as well). Went for a second opinion, and the doctor had just finished writing a paper on measuring the placenta!! Don't assume your doctor has all of the answers, and if you are not satisfied, it is absolutely 100% your right to get another opinion. At least explain why an aspirin would help in the implantation. Don't settle until you feel satisfied with the answer. I think sometimes docs give us answers just to get us to stop asking questions, rather than to truly help us understand.

definetley get a second opinion, they told me and dan that they were positive that delivering at 27 weeks she would make that there would be some complications but that her chances were very very good, my fluid level was less than 2 for more than 3 weeks which now i find out stops development even with the rescue steroids. we were not prepared for our childs death not that u ever could be but they did not prepare us for even the possibility of, never trust just one doctor.

I would get a second opinion definitely. There are so many unanswered questions... like why aspirin? and how does it help the placenta develop? I know it helps prevent clotting and thats about as far as my knowledge goes.
I got a second opinion for Logan because my first doctor said there was a possibility there were cysts on his kidneys, but not to worry, then the second doctor gave us a list of concerns he had..... then after a few months he told us Logan would die at delivery and there wasn't anything we could do. I wasn't comfortable with that explanation so we got a third opinion. Met with specialists at Children's Hospital Boston. They were great and because of their care and dedication to making sure we understood every medical diagnosis and procedures we were able to have Logan for two months. He even surprised them with his will to live.
This was a long way to put it, but you need to find a doctor who you are comfortable with and who gives you all the knowledge you need so that you know whats going on with your body and any pregnancies.
