Hello. I've become a Parent Coordinator and just had my status become active. I know I need to recruit photographers for the hospitals in my area as there aren't any. How do I go about doing so?? Do I just contact local photographers and explain the foundation? share my story? something else?? I already plan on ordering some brochures to help explain the foundation to them as well as the hospitals. I know the 3 hospitals closest to me have the nurses take pictures of the infants themselves and don't know about NILMDTS. I know, because we didn't know when we lost our daughter and only have the pictures from the nursing staff. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to recruit and get the word out right now and in the right way.
Thanks for any help you all can provide!!! :)

Tammy, thank you for volunteering.
You might consider contacting the local professional photographer's associations about making a presentation at one of their monthly meetings. (Here in Kansas City we have 5 local professional associations)
Another thought is to leave the recruiting postcard at camera shops and rental shops that cater to the professionals...
In the meantime you can work on relations with the hospitals by educating them on our website. The hospital posing guide is a wonderful resource for those times when we just don't have a volunteer available. NILMDTS also offers retouching at no charge. So even if a NILMDTS photographer isn't available to shoot, the retouching is an option. The NILMDTS website gives a thorough explanation on how to obtain retouching services.

Thanks Petra. I'll do some research and see what I can find around here. I don't expect much since I'm in Maine and, well, let's face it, we're still considered in the boonies. LOL
