About skeletal dysplasia. A friend of mine who has helped my children immensley through her organization (KIND.org /Kids in Need Developmentally) has just found out that her first grandchild has this. :( It was noticed by chance in a sonogram. They don't know if the baby will even live. She knows about NILMDTS. I told her I would post to see if anyone has information. Thank you.

Wendy,
I don't know anything about this, but have you already looked on the internet and found nothing? I've looked up some pretty unusual ailments in the past and there is usually something there.
If you're not to certain about using search engines, I'd be glad to help. But let us know if you have already done some of this initial work.

Wendy,
I just did the 'Google' routine on skeletal dysplasia, and it seems to be a form of dwarfism. Briefly, there is an average of 13% of infants are stillborn, and 44% die during the perinatal period.
Probably the best way to start looking for more information is to go to www.google.com and than do a search for the term 'skeletal dysplasia' on the web. From there, you should be able to turn up more detailed and informative articles.
I hope this helps. I am so very sorry for your friend and the family. My wife and I keep a list of names on the refrigerator door of people we want to pray for - every time one of us goes into the refrigerator, we remember the list - they are on that list now.
Blessings,
Mike

Thank you Michael and Bill. I did what you suggested and what I found is that I have to wait for a more specific report because they also found physical deformaties and other issues. But please do continue to pray for them.

Hi Wendy, I just checked it out. Seems like it is generaly accompianed by other deformities. I saw some photos and the babies seemed to have short torsos and very short limbs with larger heads.
Let us know when you find out more.
