While out of state attendng a photography workshop, my daughter called to let me know that Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa was having a luncheon for all of their volunteers on Nov 10, and they were inviting all of us to attend. I said sure, we could shut down for a couple of hours.
At the luncheon, the Vice-President of the hospital stood and introduced all of the doctors, flower shop workers, Floral Haven (cemetary) and then a few nurses from the NIC group. She then brought up the head Nurse of the NIC group and said "She will be introducing the person we are all here to recoginize and honor today." OK, it was me they were honoring and the whole thing was arranged with my staff knowiing what was going to happen. I was presented with a beautiful engraved Bulova clock. I cried. After recovering, I told all of them, "I am not the one that should be honored, it should be the nurses and doctors on the NIC floor, because they have 30-35 premies in their care every day! They are the heros because of how few times I am called to photograph."
I am sharing this to let you know, we are appreciated, even though we sometimes think we arn't. Thank you, each and everyone of you that shares your talent in NILMDTSL.
