Our angel Christopher was born into the arms of angels on July 13, 2006. It has taken us a while to decide that we are ready to share some of story with others in hopes that it will help those who are lurking, just as this website has helped us. After a long journey of infertility we were blessed with the miracle of pregnancy. We were fortunate to have had Amanda, an affiliated photographer take some maternity pictures. (She had become a friend as she also took our engagement, wedding and family photos) It was so much fun! We shared our story with her and we asked her if she could take some pictures of our baby when it was born...assuming that it would be a joyful occasion. She mentioned NILMDTS and my husband and I checked out the website, never in a million years thinking we would need it. We were 28 weeks pregnant and things were going great! The very next day our world changed forever. We found out that our baby's heartbeat had stopped. The doctors suspect it was a cord accident. We spent the day in hospital and delivered our precious angel the next day. Christopher was born a "big boy" weighing 2 lbs 11oz and 15 inches long. Everyone marvelled at how big his feet were. The picture of his perfect feet are still one of our favorite images that Amanda graciously captured. The pictures of Christoher are our most prized posessions and guide us through this long journey of grief that no parent should have to embark on.
Thanks Amanda!! I hope his picture shows up!

Your little boy is beautiful. It means so much to hear that you appreciate the work of the NILMDTS photographer who worked with you - it does take a toll emotionally for us, and hearing about how much it means to those who have needed our services does help us to keep doing these very important sessions.

Tina, you will find that many of the NILMDTS photographers have lost infants and children of their own. Don't be afraid to post whenever you need a shoulder to cry on, many of us have been there and are willing to give you support whenever you need it!

Another big thank-you to all of you. Thank-you for having the courage to share your grief, in doing so, it allows me to realize that my feelings are "normal", whatever normal is now. A friend of mine said that things will never be back to normal, but you will create a new normal in time. We struggle each day to build that new normal but realize that it is very worth the struggle. I know Christopher was with us today as the sun shone brightly and we were full of many smiles, this hasn't happened in such a long time.
We have realized that you don't appreciate what true happiness is, until you experience true sadness. When we try to think of "why" this happened to us, we think that maybe Christopher was sent to teach us some true life lessons and how to be grateful for so many things that others take for granted.
Hugs,
Tina and Brian

Tina, My angel Christopher went back to his creator July 6 one week before your angel. I hope the two Christophers are hand in hand and smiling at us. Mike Buckley

Hi Mike, Thanks for your response! I'm saddened to hear about your precious Christopher and I pray that they are watching down on us as well. I imagine them up there, giggling free of any pain...just perfect. Love the name of your angel...hee hee hee:) We get alot of snow here and my husband and I believe that Christopher sends us snowflake kisses just when we need them. As I'm typing now "Christopher kisses" are falling gently outside.
Hugs,
Tina

Tina - Thank you for sharing. I know how it is trying to find a new 'normal' in life. Our little Jordan was born into heaven - 1 lb 5 oz 14 inches long. I hope they meet each other in Heaven and have fun playing together. We are so blessed to have our pictures to cherish and hold onto.

Tina-
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Wanted to let you know that I had to smile when you shared that Christopher had "big feet." Our angel, Isaiah, was born at 32 weeks and had huge feet, too! When I asked if that was part of his chromosomal defect, the doctor said, "Nope...he just has really big feet!" Smile :)

Thanks again for sharing....beautiful, simply beautiful!
