I wasn't done...
fixing her hair
I wasn't done giving her baths
I wasn't done kissing her belly or hearing her laughs
I wasn't done buying her clothes
or smelling her skin
I wasn't done washing her clothes, or playing where's her nose
I wasn't done packing her bag or holding her hand
I wasn't done painting her nails, or hearing her bang pots and pans
I wasn't done reading her books
rocking her to sleep or
deciphering her looks
I wasn't done whispering in her ear
I wasn't done holding her tight
I wasn't done covering her up at night
I wasn't done saying I love you
or singing her songs
I wasn't done teaching her life long
I wonder why I got cheated out of my days
of doing and saying and playing sweet things
and now I see why....
It wasn't about "I"
Its about "her"
She is the one...she is the one doing
It was only my job, for just a short time..
On loan from heaven, for just a short time
On loan from heaven till God called on her again
For it is Teegan...who will be doing
She will do the holding of hands
the singing of songs
she will hold the kids at night
The angels they will read her books, give her baths
If we listen hard enough
WE can still hear her laughs
Our memories can still smell her skin
can still feel her hand
Our memories can still hear her song
But, as for the teaching life-long...
that's not anymore up to me
That's a job up to "Teegie"
Until we meet again, remember our sweet touch, sweet Teegan Wynn
