Here is an email I received from Sara Hatch about a camp for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. I asked Sara if I could post this information here, in case any of you, our NILMDTS Families would want to look into this further.
Families, getting the word out through your local media is something you can do to help gain more awareness about the services of NILMDTS. A HUGE Thank You to all those who have done this already. If you are interested in learing more about how to contact your local media and what information you need, please send me an email and I will be happy to help.
The more people we are able to reach, the better. Every family should be given the same opportunity to have these beautiful Remembrance Photos taken of their child, graciously donated by our photographers.
Below is the email I received from Sara. Please contact her if you want more info on this wonderful service.

I recently learned of your organization through an article in the Waxahachie Daily Light and I wanted to pass on some information to share with the families you serve. Camp Fire USA First Texas Council offers a grief camp for children in the North Texas Area.
Camp El Tesoro de la Vida - The Treasure of Life - is a special summer resident camp for children, ages 6 - 16, who have experienced the death of a loved one.
The weeklong program consists of 90% regular camping activities and 10% activities structured to help children through the natural grieving process. The nurturing environment assists a grieving child’s return to normal life. Regular camp activities include supervised horseback riding, archery, canoeing, hiking, nature study, camping skills, swimming, arts and crafts, sports and games. Campers are placed in cabins by age and gender. Two El Tesoro resident camp counselors or adult volunteers stay in each cabin with the children. Certified professional counselors are on-site at all times and lead the small group sessions. The camp is held at Camp El Tesoro, which is owned and operated by Camp Fire USA First Texas Council. El Tesoro is accredited by the American Camp Association and is located 45 minutes southwest of downtown Fort Worth near Granbury.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sara Hatch
