Darin and i were reading our local paper yesturday and saw that a a woman he went to high school with and we both worked with last year had given birth and lost her son on May 13, mothers day. She was 17 weeks along and this is the second son she will bury in 6 months also losing a son on Nov. 13, 2006. Her name is Kayla and her husbands name is Mike, please pray for them, especially on Thursday when they bury their sweet boy Caden. After this second loss the doctors have decided she has an incompetent cervix and told her she cannot have children as she goes into full labor so early.....im wondering does anyone know of any procedures or things that can be done for someone with this condition to carry a baby to term? She was already on complete bedrest the whole pregnancy...

Sometimes they can put a stitch in the cervix to keep it closed. I had a friend with an incompetent cervix who had to have this done- it's called a cerclage. It works sometimes.

Thoughts and prayers are with your friends Lindzy, also to you as you also know the pain of loosing a child and hopefully you will find a way to help your friends.

Yes, I too know a friend who worked with a very good reproductive specialist there in Omaha and was successful in having her only daughter with the help of the cerclage. I will get the name of the doctor for you as I know your near there.

All that aside, my thoughts and prayers are with this family.

Lindzy,
Sometimes I forget I say these things and don't follow through...if I ever do this again please send me another message and remind me I'm getting the info for you....I hope if this family wants to see this doctor they will receive your message well.

Many Blessing to them...Linda
