My husband's cousin and his wife just gave birth 7 1/2 weeks early to a 2 lb. 2 oz., 13" long baby boy. I don't have any more details right now, but I would appreciate it if you would keep their family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks!

Mom and Dad haven't decided on a name for the baby, yet. :(
According to my mother-in-law's brother (Grandpa) the baby is doing really well. However, he has lost some of his birth weight and is now 1 lb. 7 ounces. Truthfully, it's a bit hard to gauge through the grapevine how baby is really doing.
Apparently Grandpa has given my MIL conflicting advice... he initially said the baby was born 7 1/2 weeks early (I was really surprised baby was THAT small). However, this last time MIL talked to him, he said the baby was born at 27 weeks... which sounds a bit more accurate to me.
I'll keep you posted as I learn more.
Thank you so much for all your thoughts, prayers, and support.

Okay, well I have an accurate update from Mom. Just thought I'd post it directly here. Apparently, he was not down to 1 lb. 7 ounces, thank goodness... he was down to 1 lb. 13, but has gained again and is back up to 2 lbs!
Thanks again for all of your prayers and well wishing!
Here's the info from Mom:
On Thursday night (dh) mentioned the name Wyatt and found that inFrench it means "little warrior" and in english it means, "brave warrior". This seemed to be the perfect fit. Wyatt, the little warrior. He finally had a name and it was perfect!
On Thursday he was breathing really well and they were able to take him off the oxygen tube and put the smaller unit into his nose. He is breathing normal air and doing it mostly on his own now. The nose tube looks worse then the other tube, but is better! His billiruben is also a little high so he gets to wear these sweet shades over his eyes while he is under the lights. Friday they took all the monitors and tubes out of his umbilical cord and put an iv in his arm, which again, looks worse, but is better! He weighted 2lbs 2ozs at birth and dropped to 1 lbs. 13 ozs by Friday. They said this is normal and not to worry. It does make you a little nervous when they lose weight and they are already so small.
Today, Saturday he weights 2lbs again! Yah! They are also starting to feed him through a feeding tube. Everyday will be a challenge for this little guy and every little thing is a huge step. We will take it just one day at a time and celebrate each step forward and pray with each challenge. We are so thankful for all your love, calls, prayers and support. We really appreciate you all and feel your love for our family and this special little boy. We feel so blessed by our Heavenly Father to have this him as part of our family. We will try and keep daily or regular updates for you as he grows!

Wyatt is such a doll baby. I love the second one down at 1 week old. It looks like he's smiling. What a beautiful family. Still praying things will continue to get better.
