Here is an idea for get togethers with parents in your areas:

Anybody in Denver interested in doing a holiday cookie exchange? I would love to host this in my home...Please let me know. Kids are welcome. We can also make ornaments for our angels. My treat!

Tuesday nights, Friday nights or Saturdays -anytime- are best for me...
But lets do this soon...

I'd love to. Most of those nights work ok for me (depending on the actual date!). I can't do too late if I bring the kids (evil monsters arrive if they are up too late!). Talk to you soon.

Kathy,
I think the earlier we do it in the day, the better. That way kids can be involved. My kids stagger home from school, with the last one arriving home at 3:30. Let me know if we start at 4, would that be ok? Tuesdays work best for me.

So if anybody has ever been involved in a cookie exchange, depending on the amount of people, you only need to bake and bring one kind of cookie, and supply the recipe to all...Usually around 4 dozen...I personally love secret family recipes...;) Then they are divided, usually in groups of six. Sound right?

I'm in but can't make it during the week. Can we please do Saturday please, please, please!! :) I bake really well and you'd be remissed if I wasn't there...LOL!

Also, can husbands come?

One more thought...is there any way to sort our member list by state and send a message to those in CO? I wouldn't want families to miss such a fun time just because they didn't visit the forum this week or next....thoughts...

Linda great idea, but I don't have most of the parents information.
Here lies the problem. Can't do it this week, on the 8th the girls have a cheer competition in Denver-Can't do it the 15th, I am in VEGAS (baby) for the girls cheerleading-and the 22nd is too close to Christmas, unless that is ok with everybody else. It is fine with me... It could also just be small and intimate. I know that I could count on Erica, and maybe Charlene, Kathy, you and me...
(am I forgetting anybody on the forum from Denver?)

And husbands, why not...

We could also have a wine exchange for the parents-not that you are drinking anytime soon-but you can save it for the special occasion...

If there are any Snickerdoodles, somebody had better send some to me!;)

If the weekend doesn't work then go ahead and pick a date/time and I'll see if my boss will let me have a 1/2 day...

Hi there,
For me and the little boys at least, most weekdays are fine if early (4 pm ish no Wed 12/12 or Fri 12/14), Sat/Sun 12/22-23 works too. Hope this works out. I'd love to see all the Denver area people.

How about we plan on Saturday, December 22nd. Say around 12n. I can do some finger food, lunch for us, adult and kid friendly. Husbands are welcome, can't say mine will be here. That way cookies will also be fresh for Santa...
That way Linda can be with us...

Now NORMALLY I will show up for anything where there is food involved, but I'm working!! The next three Saturdays, actually - so I unfortunately pass... We also have a hockey game that evening, so I'm out on many levels.

Speaking of hockey... if anyone in the metro area wants a fun family event (at a reasonable price) come see a Rocky Mountain Rage CHL hockey game! They are kicking butt this season and the tickets start at around $10.

That date works for me and I love the time. Let's just hope the weather is good for traveling. Cheryl, can you PM me with your address - thanks. Do you still want to do the wine? I think that's a great idea or if we know it's 3 to 5 of us we could do a white elephant gift exchange for under 15 or so????

Erica if whatever we do it and you can't make it we'll have to get together someday, we live closer to eachother than most were all the way down 104th but to get to that Promadant (sp) shopping center it's about 30 min or so maybe one weekend we could do lunch or dinner??

Here is an image of our get together. We had a good time, talking, exchanging our cookies, and making a special ornament for our angels.
Charlene-Baby Daniels Mom, Stephanie-Baby Soren's mom, Linda-Baby Ethan's mom and me.
Kathy-Baby Isabelle's mom wasn't able to make it, and Erica-baby Matthew's mom, too. But we make you ornaments. Erica, Charlene has yours, and Kathy, I will mail yours...Sorry you both couldn't make it. We will do it again! For sure!!A big thanks to Photographer Andrea Hills for her inspiration with the ornaments, and of course Tasha Nichols for the artwork.

Thanks Cheryl for having us. It was so much fun - Kirk loved the ornament!
The drive was worth it, what a beautiful area of Colorado.

Are you guys going to do something like this again? I know its kind of early to even start thinking about Christmas but it will be my first one with out Layla since I was pregnant with her last christmas and would love to do something like this so I could meet the people who live in Colorado that have lost their angels too. Please let me know! Thank you! :)

Are you guys going to do something like this again? :)

I'd like to know too. I already know (fear) that I will have a horrible Christmas this year since little Benjamin passed on December 27th, so I know I will need some extra support during the holidays. I will have to be upbeat and excited for my other kids while inwardly my heart will be breaking.
