I joined NILMDTS for I was inspired at a Ed Pierce Seminar that had Sandy Puc's testimonial. I thought and still feel I can do this! However, I also know this could be a tough juggling act in photographing and communicating with the parents.

I look forward to making a training seminar and networking with many of you.

I'm still trying to find the store! LoL, Maybe I should have my wife look; she never misses one! (teasing)

Again, I'm guardedly excited on volunteering my ability and time to lend a healling hand at a time of great need.

Peace

Roger

Roger, and all new folks. When you go on your first session, the butterflies will be flying high as you drive to the hospital. That is natural, and it should be anticipated. However, when you enter the room, and take your first image (the older folks here already know what I'm about to say, because i say it so often-and I as yet am to be proven wrong), you are going to find that 'Photographer' mode kicks in and you'll go through the session and be amazed with how fast you just took about 60 or more images. You will also leave the hospital and mysteriously feel disappointed that you did not get the images you were hoping for. But, when you load them on the computer, and start editing, you are going to be amazed at what you have created. You're going to find that you more than out performed yourself, and didn't realize it.
Don't worry about how you communicate at the time, your images will come through LOUD and clear!

The link to the store I think you are referring to is posted in the "sticky: Nilmdts Apparel" under Open Photography Discussion.

Hi I'm Donna,

I just signed up a couple of weeks ago to be a photographer with NILMDTS. This is something that has been on my heart for a good 7 years. I have been reading the different posts on the forum here for days now, and I am blown away by the testimonies of families and photographers. The compassion is overwhelming. I have not gone on a ( I hate to call it a shoot ) shoot to a hospital yet and I am pretty apprehensive, but the words of Kirk are very encouraging.

I have a good friend who is a NICU nurse at our local hospital here in Cleveland and she thinks this is a great organization. For some reason NILMDTS was not at this hospital. I think they are short photographers here. She told me that recently they had a set of twins who were not doing well. The nurses took pictures with the camera that they had. Their printer wasn't working so no images were printed. Well, someone didn't know the images had not been printed and the card was full and they deleted all the images. The babies have passed away and they have NO photographs of the babies. I contacted our local NILMDTS coordinator and they have since contacted my friend and they are now hooked up. I feel bad for the family who have no photographs, but now in the future this shouldn't be a problem.

What a beautiful ministry this is..
