Email from Joe Griffin:

Dear Sam and Cheryl:
First I want to thank you for your wonderful service that you did for all of us last night at the conference by sharing your stories of help for the hurting. I now have a better idea of what to expect and also am thinking of ways to incorporate photographers in our local guild. The training DVDs you are planning will be a help, since NILMDTS would be a great way for us to give back to the community.

I have to tell you something that happened this morning. I have a long-time client from Dallas, with whom I had a session for a monthly trade magazine cover. After the shoot, while I was downloading the session files, my client received a cell-phone call, and sat down outside my office in my reception area. When I went out to discuss the shoot with her, I noticed she was crying, and asked what was wrong. She said that the call was from her son in Beaumont, to say that his wife was being taken to the hospital to deliver their stillborn baby. He was, of course, very distraught and just wanted to talk to his mom, and was a picture of how quickly joy can turn to sorrow. I knew that it was not an accident that she was at my studio today, and suddenly the magazine cover was reduced in importance. I showed her the NILMDTS brochure, told her that I had just been at the training session, shared with her a scripture about God’s comfort (2 Cor. 1:3-4,) and prayed a brief prayer with her—right there at my studio.

Little did I know, as I listened to your experiences last night, that I would be so soon putting into practice lessons taught by you two! Sam, maybe we can meet again at Texas School.

May you be blessed and your numbers increase.

Sincerely,
Joe Griffin
