We found out at my 20 week ultrasound that Jarell's kidneys had stopped working so he had no amniotic fluid. I had no idea that would mean certain death. I was clueless to the fact that his lungs would not develop due to not having any fluid. It was such a numbing experience to have a doctor tell you that this baby you have already grown to love so much is going to Heaven when he arrives. They told us that he could pass before he even makes it to full term. We continued our pregnancy trying to cherish every moment, day, minute, second that God gave us with our son. He was stubborn like his daddy and mommy, he was going to hold on so he could see the people that talked to him every day. I went into labor on May 17, 2007, at 37 weeks and Jarell was born at 2:28pm, he was alive and his eyes were open, looking right at us. We were so excited to finally get to see our beautiful son, to hear his little noises and to actually laugh to see he had his dads squished nose. He was with us for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It was such a bittersweet day, life is forever changed, our hearts to never be whole again until we get to Heaven to get our lost piece back again.

Thank you for your kind words of Jarell. I can tell you I am much stronger today than I was when he was born. I never thought I could find peace or happiness in my life again after that but by the grace of God I have managed to move on with my life, never forgetting Jarell, but I have learned how to live with the heartache. I can smile when I think of his sweet face, my sweet angel, I know he is looking over me, waiting for me to join him!

I have never seen this before either! I love the picture and the saying. I had read something similar in a different place and requested it be included in Dekar's slideshow. I find so much comfort in the fact that the Almighty is telling Dekar about his earthly family. :)
