Baby Daniel's Birthday

I wanted to start this thread early for Angel Baby Daniel and his Mommy and Daddy, Charlene and Ken. Baby Daniel was born on March 24th, 2005. Baby Daniel's Angel day was March 25th. 2005.
Ken and Charlene, I know how hard the days are leading up to the birth of your precious baby. Your mind keeps going back to the days and moments of what you were doing. Everything is ready. All you need is baby to make everything complete. The hopes and dreams you have for your baby... Now we are left with the what if's...The what should have been's...You should be preparing for your baby's first birthday. Placing his cake in front of him, and watching as he delights in playing in it...
Instead, your life has taken a different path. I don't want to say a 'wrong turn.' And definitely not a turn for the worse...Who are we to say what is wrong and what is right. Charlene, I know this is not what WE planned for our lives. But, I thank God every day that I met you, your husband and your precious son, Daniel. (I would have rather met you at a Gymboree play date with our sons, but then again, who am I to question...)
Thank you for sharing your story and your son Daniel with us. Thank you for putting your heart out there for everyone to see. By sharing Daniel with us, you have allowed NILMDTS to reach other families, and help them in their time of need.
Please know that I am thinking of you, Ken, Daniel and your soon to be blessing, Jasmine. I pray that during the anniversary of your baby's birth, you find hope, peace and joy in the rememberance of your beautiful son, Daniel

Just a note to tell you again you are in my thoughts and prayers as you prepare for Daniel's first Birthday celebration. May you find peace and comfort as you and your family remember your precious and beautiful little angel. He is forever in our hearts, mine included. My wish for him is that he's peacefully happy, and is keeping a watchful little eye on his wonderful family. Please know I am thinking of you today, and little Daniel is in my thoughts and prayers.

My First Birthday In Heaven

It's my first birthday in heaven,
what a joy to partake.
My presents are flowers and rainbows
and angel food cake.

My crib is decorated with roses
and glitter.
And the stars that shine upon me
make everything shimmer.

The other angels are dancing and
singing me songs.
Soon Jesus will be joining me,
It won't be long.

We'll all gather and pray
for my loved ones on earth,
Who love me so much,
from the day of my birth.

You see, Birthdays in Heaven
are full of happiness and cheer.
We celebrate with our loved ones,
who proceeded us here.

Yes, Birthdays in Heaven
are wonderful and gay.

Charlene,
I wanted to thank you for letting me be a part of Daniel's brief time on this earth. Daniel is a very remarkable little boy. He was the second reminder to me that something special needed to happen.
Many of our members may not realize that little Daniel played a huge part in the creation of NILMDTS. After working with Daniel only 6 weeks after Maddux, I knew that someone was sending me a message. Only now am I beginning to understand what that message really was.
When I met you in the hospital I had also only know Cheryl for a few weeks. It was because of the session with Daniel that Cheryl and I had the first conversation about how we needed to do something to help all families who would suffer a loss of a child.
That conversation truly was the official beginning of NILMDTS. I often wonder that if your sister, Joni had not called me to come to the hospital and work with Daniel, would we have ever started this organization?
So Happy Birthday Daniel. So many of us here are grateful that you became a part of our lives. I am personally honored that I had the chance to spend some of your precious time with you. You have changed my life and I thank you for that.
Daniel, you will always have a very special part of my heart.
