View Full Version : Little Gabriel
I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Inge and I am from St. Albert, Alberta Canada. On March 1 2008 my husband and I had a beautiful little boy whom we named Gabriel. We were blessed with two wonderful hours with him. Gabriel was diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis (no kidneys) at a routine ultrasound. This organization has been a huge comfort to me since we found out that our baby would not survive once he was born. The twelve weeks prior to his birth were some of the hardest weeks I have ever been through or so I thought. I never understood what the words "empty arms" meant but now I know. It is a pain that cuts so deep that I can't even explain it. My heart has broken into a million pieces and I know that it will never be whole again. Although we know that the pain of losing Gabriel will be with us for a long time we do have peace and comfort knowing he is in the arms of his heavenly Father. We give thanks everyday for having met Gabriel and he will always be our little messenger from God.
p.s.I would love to share some photos of Gabriel but I'm not quite sure how to attach them. I'll have to save it for another time.

Welcome to our family! I pray you find hope and peace here as I have and so many others have. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to meet your Gabriel and see his precious face!

Oh, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Gabriel. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I would love to see some pictures of him when you can post them. My daughter, Kavya was diagnosed with renal agenesis when I was 25+ weeks along, and we had her on December 26th. She also lived for two hours (to the minute). (her pics are posted in the "our babies" section of the forum - Kavya Anjali. I understand what you went through for those twelve weeks, and how blessed you felt to meet him for any time. I thought I was SO lucky to get two whole hours when the docs said she would probably not survive to term and if she was born alive wouldn't live for more than a few minutes. I would love to hear more about your sweet boy and the time you had with him, and relate more about our experiences.
Welcome to our little family. You are in my prayers. Perhaps our angels are in heaven together looking down on us. God bless,
Beth

Dear Inge ~ I am so sorry for your loss of your sweet Gabriel, as we have all learned lossing a baby is the worst pain a person can feel! I was told at my 20 week ultrasound that my son had kidneys but they had stopped working so the outcome was the same! This forum really is a wonderful place, we will always listen when you need to talk! ~ Carissa

Inge,
We found out at a routine ultrasound that our son Timothy's kidneys stopped working. He lived for 38 minutes after birth. I'm so sorry that your Gabriel isn't here with you anymore. I look forward to seeing pictures of your beautiful boy.

Welcome Inge, I do hope hear you find as much peace as I have and friendships that are true and rare. Sending you prayers for your loss and strength to take one second at a time. Lyssa
Hello Everyone,
I just want to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. In some ways it seems strange finding support with strangers but then none of you are strangers to this situation. No one I love really knows what I am feeling and I get tired of always saying "I'm doing okay" when I'm really not. Thank you all for listening and being there and I look forward to sharing more of our Gabriel with you in the future.
Inge
p.s.i did manage to upload some pictures of Gabriel. They are in the Our Babies section of the forum if anyone is interested in meeting him.
