View Full Version : I want to find THE angel

why is this so HARD. I mean literally there are thousands, one would think. But, actually what I have found is there are only like 125 replicated over and over KWIM? They are all either bowl shaped haircuts, curls flowing over the face of a chubby little cherub, or adult women with long flowinh hair over their tall thin body. The problem....my cherub was dainty. Not chubby. Petite, tiny and precious like a tiny string of pearls. Her hair was sparse, almost clear fine angel blonde silk, and I do mean FINE. Like thin. Like I had to comb and pull for quite awhile to get the faintest resemblance of a pigtail in her hair. In fact the one on the right was much more developed than the one on the left. When it was wet it turned invisible (notice avatar pic) especially in the front. The back was noticeable if the sun was in the right spot and it was messy in the perfect way. I do not want a mama angel, first my body looks nothing like those bodies and second uhmn I am not the angel....it's like "here is my angel that looks nothing like my child, in fact it is supposed to be me..only a much more perfect version of me. A finer prettier, skinnier, longer haired version of me, but you know it's all about me...forget about my angel baby." Do you all see my dilemma.....help me stop the insanity. Who makes these garden ornaments anyway? Let me place my order... I need an angel with blonde semi-there hair. Pigatils would be a plus but not necessary...if the cherub has pigtails...make sure the one on her right is twice as thick three time perhaps, and twice as long as the one on the right. Also...her eyes must have dots in the irises like little mirrors that reflect diamonds. No fat rolls at all, just some faint folding at the the top of her feet, where the foot joins the shin. If her belly button shows that would be perfect, especially if her finger is on it. Maybe some dimpling under the middle of the highest part of the fatty part of the cheeks, much higher than normal. Can the maker add a doll baby, just for realistic value? I haven't seen many two or three year old walking around without one. That ought to do it.

Oh, Sarah. I wish I could make one for you. I wish I was more artistic and could make clay dance under my hands because I would love to give you this. I spend many hours looking for the perfect ways to memorialize my angel in stores, online. I love your description of your sweet girl. I can almost see her just here next to me...your love shines through your every word. I wish I was more talented and could give you this. Is there anyone who is? Or who knows someone that can???

Sarah,
I completely agree. I've been looking high and low and I just can't buy any that I've seen. I'm not sure what I'm going to do because I don't think I'm going to find what I'm looking for. Keep us posted on your search and good luck.

I work from home, and today is just an extremely slow and lazy day... So instead of sitting at the computer doing nothing, I saw this post and wanted to do a good thorough search... To see if I could come up with anything at all, that resembles your little angel... And while some of these are not angels, this first one was my favorite. I love willow tree and this first link is a brown haired mom and her blonde haired little one.

and this is not a sculpture, but I myself have one of these in memory of my son, I love it... http://www.mothersandangels.com/
but your right, it's hard to find an angel baby with your description... I just found that willow tree and thought you may like it...

Sarah, I hope I'm not bugging yout oo much...I was looking for something to add to my memorial garden area and came across these. For some reason, I felt I should share with you. Nothing comes close to the beauty of your angel, but I thought of her when I saw these.

There is a lovely studio near us that does garden sculptures. I don't know if they have anything currently like what you want...but they may do a custom angel for you. Here a link to their site...
