I had a positive experience that I wanted to share. I have a co-worker who has always been great about acknowledging Timothy--before and after he was born. We were working together the other day, and she got on a computer that I had logged onto and saw my background picture of me holding Timothy at the end of his bath in the hospital. She got all gushy and started talking about his "poke-able" tummy. She mentioned that she hadn't seen any pictures besides the few we put up at the visitation and included in the slideshow. So, I brought into work today the prints we made from the NILMDTS pictures, as well as the scrapbook I started, and we looked through them. It was so nice to hear someone talk about how beautiful my baby is, and for me to be able to talk about my birth experience and how wonderful it was to have him even for the short time we did. I was so glad she just let me talk.

I'm glad you were able to talk about Timothy. I know it helps. I like to be able to talk about Gracelynn too. It really helps to affirm that they were and are still an intrinsic part of our lives.

It drives me nuts when people assume there's nothing to talk about because our child isn't living. I had someone ask if they should be concerned that I look at Amanda's picture. I was very patient and kind in my reply--I guess they got me on a good day because that could have gone soooooo badly. Amanda, I'm so glad you were able to share your baby with a caring soul. There's just nothing that makes us happier.

I love to hear about these small blessings in our lives - when people do the right thing, say the right thing. I'm so glad you got that experience. Sometimes it would just be nice to sit and talk about Kavya like the baby she was, rather than the loss. THank you for sharing.

I am glad you have someone like that in your life. Sometimes thats all we need is for someone to bring up our child so we can talk about it. I don't have anybody do that but my mom. And on here of course.
