View Full Version : Mason's Birth Announcements

I'm going to be having Mason's birth announcements made next week and wanted to know if anyone has any ideas for a nice quote. I searched the internet for something but only came up with things like:

Ten little fingers and a cute little nose; everything's perfect from his head to his toes!

And although I do think most of these quotes are cute I really don't want cute, I want something elegant and powerful. Possibly even a scripture if I could find the perfect one...

You asked:

“Hush hush” said the moon. “Turn out the light… someone new sleeps with us tonight!” – unknown

"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted what I asked of Him…" 1 Samuel 1:27

A baby sent from Heaven above, from God to us, a gift of love. From angels whispers we’ve been told, (he / she) is the treasure in life to behold.

Kisses and snuggles and giggles,
Life at it's brightest and best.
Oh, how our hearts have been stolen,
Oh, how our home has been blessed!

We thank the Lord for the tiny blessings he bestows!
Ten little fingers, ten little toes.

We dreamed of you. We prayed for you. We are blessed to know you.

Here are some scriptures off the top of my head, I will think about this more.

Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17 (New International Version)

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13, 14 (New International Version)

Here are a few . . .
you may have already seen these tho . . .

"A breath, a cry and a life brand new, in a single moment our dreams have come true."

A baby is a gift of life
Born of the wonder of love,
A little bit of eternity
Sent from the Lord above,
Giving a new dimension
To the love between husband and wife
And putting an added new meaning
To the wonder and mystery of life.

************************
A little bit of heaven
Drifted down from above -
A handful of happiness,
A heartful of love.
The mystery of life,
So sacred and sweet
The giver of joy
So deep and complete.
Precious and priceless,
So lovable, too
The world's sweetest miracle,
Baby boy, is you.

"A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace and love, a resting place for innocence on earth, a link between angels and men."
Martin Fraquhar Tupper

A Boy Is . . .

Trust with dirt on its face,
Beauty with a cut on its finger.
Wisdom with bubble gum in its
hair, and the
Hope of the future with
A frog in its pocket.

Cheryl, I love the "A baby sent from Heaven above...that made me cry "happy tears" of course..."that's what Elijah calls them. I also like the scripture but that has always been Ethan's scripture and I feel like it should always just be his...if I ever work up the nerve my tatoo was going to be his lil' footprints and below it 1 Samuel 1:27 and above his footprints Ethan

Here is one that is pretty cute:

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again. ~Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

And let me just tell you we've had some serious rain delays over the past three weeks!

Linda, I'm with Kirk . . . I love that quote . . . it TOTALLY describes a BOY!!!

I'm off to bed . . . Will you post an announcement when you finish it? I know that you have a million things to do with little man Mason but I would love to see what you come up with . . . How much does he weigh now?

linda

Linda,
Mason in a baseball glove with that quote would make an AMAZING announcement . . . you'd have everyone in stitches and EVERYONE would remember that . . . AND it would be perfect to save for when Mason graduates from High School . . . perfect to sneak into a yearbook. . . you have to think ahead . . . LOL

linda

Tis true! That would be cute huh ~ we're getting pics done next week. I'll bring the glove.

Is that baby photoshopped into the glove or just that small?

I just did a an announcement with this wording....

thought it might be appropriate since it includes a line for a sibling and I see there is one in your picture? Congratulations!

(sibling) has a new brother to hold
(parents) a new life to mold
Together they have a new love to share
Which God has blessed with His tender care

That's what I said ~ I told my husband and he didn't believe me. So I said you do it, get on the scale then weigh him. My husband said heck no, I'm not getting on that scale! lol You just had a baby everyone "understands" your trying to loose a lil' weight. They don't cut me any slack that I was just a long for the ride! Awwwhhh...

Vicki
05-27-2008, 09:55 AM
OMG . . . that is hilarious . . . sympathy weight (at least they try to call it that) . . .
I did a maternity shoot yesterday and the dad was as lean as could be . . . he hadn't gained an OUNCE . . . I told him he was a disappointed to his species . . . his wife agreed!!! She probably would have liked for him to at least have gained a COUPLE of pounds . . .
I wanted to get a shot of him sticking his belly out like hers but he had NO BELLY to even stick out . . .

linda
05-27-2008, 10:04 AM
Well I tried to do that too and Kirk said absolutely not...:( I was disappointed!

Bring it one sister!!!!

my email is vickizoller@hotmail.com . . . I'll try to get to it today (I work at the foodbank on Tuesdays) . . . yep it would be funny . . . just don't let him see this post . . . lol . . . he'll know what state I'm in then . . .
I'm cracking up here . . . maybe you should just post the shot to the thread and let everyone have a crack at it . . . who knows what could come from it. PLUS it's good practice for retouching . . .

linda
05-27-2008, 10:25 AM
I sent it...Yeah that's a great idea $100 to the photographer who retouches me into a size 2 again........ROTFL Shoot I'll just send $$$ to the person who gives me my ancles back in the picture.

LInda,

Thanks for the photos of Mason . . . wow . . he is REALLY getting big . . .
Why is it that that cute chubby leg fat looks so sweet and eatable on a baby and completely the opposite on me ??? LOL . . .
He really is a beautiful baby . . . I bet he smells good too. I love the smell on the back of a baby's neck . . . I miss babies . . . No one around me has had one recently and I sure could use a baby cuddle . . .

linda

One of our local photogs posted a notice on our group NILMDTS website about an upcoming walk (July 20) to remember for parents that have lost children. . . . You probably already know about this organization, The Compassionate Friends . . . anyway, this was at their website about butterflies . . .
"Butterfly"

Why the Butterfly as a symbol?
The Butterfly has long symbolized a renewal of life.

The caterpillar signifies life here on earth; the cocoon signifies death; and the butterfly signifies the emergence of the dead into a new, beautiful and more free existence.

Frequently, the butterfly is seen with the word "Nika", which means victory, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross movingly tells of seeing butterflies drawn all over the walls of the children's dormitories in world war II concentration camps.

Since children are intuitive, she concludes that these children knew their fate and were leaving a message.

The Compassionate Friends adopted the butterfly as a symbol of hope that our children are living in another dimension with greater beauty and freedom, which is a comforting thought to many of us.

lol ~ I know I told Kirk I didn't want anymore when I was pregnant but holding this lil' guy makes me want to have as many as the good Lord will give me. I keep asking Kirk if we can just start trying now! He thinks I'm nuts, I told him he knew I was nuts before he married why would he be surprised NOW? Silly boy!
