Hi everyone. Just wonted to drop in and see how everyone was doing. I am still waiting on my acceptince letter to be a NILMDTS photographer. It has been quite a while. I applied around the middle of april, and still havent heard anything. Did any one else have to wait this long. I am trying to figure out what the hold up is. I have a man that is going to a newspaper article when i get my official acceptince, but i am just having to wait on my email. Does anyone have any idea how much longer it should be. I though it was like a 6 week waiting period.

I applied the first week of April, so I've been waiting too. I know there was an overwhelming response right before that, which got us all backed up. Meanwhile I'm reading and trying to be prepared if I do get accepted :) hugs!

I emailed about starting to be a parent coordinator/retoucher/photo assistant. No response yet. I know there are a lot of people ahead of me though.

ever since the today show aired, there has been a huge response to NILMDTS. Unfortunately, that means the staff at headquarters has a lot of volunteers to process.
While an email should be sent out once your application is reviewed, it doesn't hurt to check your status on the site! :) if you've created your "account" online (it's there whether or not you're approved I think), you can check your status there. Also, you won't be listed as approved until you've made your donation.

I just checked and both of your accounts are still pending. Feel free to email or pm Kirk. He's the lone ranger right now in approving photographers, so he is a little bit behind and can give you a status update and let you know when you can expect to hear back.

Your application should be reviewed sometime during the next week. We have formed a new committee to aid me in processiong the new applicants. I used to be able to review new applicants within about a week form the time they applied. However, then I was also looking at about 50-60 applications in the process at all times. Now, however, I'm, looking at over 800!
We now have a committee that has just been formed, but not in action, quite yet consisting of myself as the chair and Heather Lombardo, Dale Kincaid, Aimee Bickers, and Andrea Hillis to assist me. Once we move through the current applications, we will discuss ways of streamling the process, as well as methods to guarantee that our Affiliated Photographers are all producing Professional level images.

Let me correct that statement, a little. The donation is necessary, however, if it is a hardship on you, you can email us and request a waiver. But, we do need for you to do one or the other. Also, you won't be fully approved until we have received the Volunteer Service Agreement (VSA) form. The link for that form is included in the 'Welcome' message you receive when I first approve your application.
Once we get the VSA, and you have let us know what you need to do with our small donation request,then you will be listed on the website, and you are then fully approved.

If we make our $25 donation, but for some reason, we are not approved, that money will go to help the website anyway, right? (That's what I would want :) )
Thanks for the valuable information! I'm sorry that it's been so hard to keep up with, but I'm so glad the photographer applications have gone up!

You are not asked to make the $25 donation until you are approved. At that point, you will be given information to sign in to your account where you can pay your donation fee and log your sessions.
If you accidentally paid the donation already through the website, you will need to email Heather at heather@nilmdts.org and let her know.
