Trip to CA during Ethan's 2nd birthday! Uggg

Today I will leave to visit CA with just Mason. Kirk and Elijah are staying home. My grandpa is 90 yrs old and having issues with his leg. He has an aneurysm in his leg and will need to get a angiogram to see if he can have surgery to remove it. The doctor said often times when people that old go in for surgery they won't wake up....so they are being very careful. The other options is for my granpda to just let it be and what will be will be. My grandparents haven't decided what to do. They will make that decisions after the angiogram. Long story short our family decided we wanted lil' Mason to meet Grandpa so we bought plane tickets for us to visit but couldn't make it a family vacation because that would be to expensive.

So I will be in CA at my brother's house on Ethan's annaversary and I don't know if I will be able to work through that! I keep telling myself to predend it's not till wednesday (next week) so I can be home with my family.

Please pray for my Grandpa's health and my feelings..........

Linda, I am so sorry about your Grandpa and sorry that you will have to face Ethan's second birthday without your family around you. I of course will pray for your strength and for your Grandpa.

I will take lots of pics. Elijah wrote grandpa a very sweet letter last night. He really wanted to go. Nothing like knowing Mom will be with all his extended family and he doesn't get to go ( my entire family lives in CA). He was bumbed to say the least, but Kirk is planning a fun week to the movies, swimming, Dave and Busters, Bowling etc...

I'll be thinking of all of you. Try to think about this another way--this will be a special time with your new baby and his great grandpa. Spending Ethan's birthday with them may bring some peace to your Grandpa--your sweet angel will greet him when his time comes. And some peace for you--that someone so special to you will be with your sweet boy in the future.

Sounds like Ethan planned himself a great birthday . . . he'll get to watch his lttle brother meet his great-grandpa, must be something that's important to him!
There is something about bringing together someone that is on one end of life with someone that is just at the beginning . . . you can see the circle being completed, you can see how nothing ever really ends . . .
Your grandfather will look at Mason and he'll be thinking, " He has a whole world before him . . . if I could only do it all again" and in a sense he will be . . . We all live on in the love we leave here . . . Ethan is showing all of you that he too is still very much a part of that circle . . . he just wants you all to see that too . . .
What an amazing birthday this will be . . .

Sometimes we aren't where we want to be but where we need to be . . . maybe you NEED to be with your babies and your grandfather for this special day . . .
