A very dear friend of mine (whom I'd lost touch with for about three years) found me yesterday via email and when I asked how he was doing, he told me that he and his wife are expecting, but that there are complications and that the baby will not survive after the c-section that is planned for some time next month.

Of course one of the things I did was encourage Peter to take a look at this website for support and also to have the option available to have NILMDTS do a portrait session for them if it's possible.

Please keep Peter and his wife and their sweet baby in your prayers as they walk through this very difficult part of their life.

I will update as I know more...

I just received another message from Peter... Baby has body limb wall complex. He said it's not genetic but that it has left the baby with severe deformities that surgeons cannot correct. Baby's missing an abdomen. His heart and lungs are in the body, but the rest of the lower organs are not.

Please keep them in your prayers.

They are definitely in my prayers. You have, I'm sure, done this, but encourage your friends not to be scared to spend time with the baby. You mentioned deformities; I know some parents fear to see their little one because of possible deformation of limbs and etc. While Kavya had no real obvious visible deformities, we were prepared for her to have. We still would have taken pictures and everything - remind them that it's still their baby and they will still love and cherish their baby. Our imaginings are usually worse than our realities in that area, I think.

Thank you for your prayers. Peter said they are preparing for the worst. I know he wants pictures done. He said his wife already contacted NILMDTS about a month ago but that they were having troubles finding a photographer in their area. I'd do it myself if he wasn't eight hours away from me (well I'd be more than willing to drive the 8 hour trip for him and his family but being a single momma, I can't afford the gas that it would cost to make the trip). Please pray that a photographer in their area will be able to go...

PLEASE tell us what city they are in. We can then see what we can do. I'm sure we can find someone. But, without knowing where they are, we have nothing to go on.

They live in Harlingen, TX

It's possible that they've found one... he just said that a month ago when his wife called, they were having trouble finding one in their area and he hadn't asked his wife recently to see if they've been able to find one yet.
