Im new to this board, so I figured its time to share my storey.
In October 2007, my boyfriend and I of 2.5 years split up, a few days later I found out I was pregnant. After telling him, he decides to tell me that I did it on purpose...ugh men.. Well a few days later he says hes happy about it, and would be at every appointment. He came to the first appointment, that was it. At the end of december I had my 18 week ultrasound, he didn't even make it to that. I had called him to tell him that they were unable to find out the sex (we wanted to know). He called every few days to check in on me and our growing baby. Most of the time giving me hope we would work things out and be a family. Well in Feburary, I have a 3d ultrasound and find out we are having a girl. I went home and called him right away and told him. He was upset it wasn't a boy, and I didn't hear from him after that until a week before my due date in june.
Other then all that I had a great pregnancy, I loved every min of it. On sunday june 1st 2 days before my due day, my water broke 3:30am, I had no contractions so I figured no point in going to the hospital yet. So by 8am still nothing but decide I should head to the hospital and see if im progressing at all. Well NOTHING, she hadn't even dropped past my pelvic bone. The dr, told me to come back at 9pm (if i don't start contracting sooner) and i'll be induced and be given antibiotics since by that point it would of been 18 hours with my water broken, so i go back in at 9 and the dr isn't even there, and since im still not contracting they send me home again and tell me to come back in at 7am. So the next morning im still not contracting and head back to the hospital, they give me the 1st round of the gel to induce me, and monitor me for an hour and send me home, told me to come back at 2pm for the 2nd round. Im getting pretty frustrated by this point. 2pm I get my 2nd round and soon after start getting contractions. by 7pm im in full labour, about 10pm I get a shot of morphine, which in my mind did nothing. By 12:45am im ready to push and by 1:45 Isabelle was born still born.
I couldn't believe it I was in shock, everything was perfect there was a strong heartbeat up until the very last push. Her umbilical cord wasn't connect correctly to the placenta it was attached to the side instead of the top. The cord was also wrapped around her neck 3 times, so when i gave the final push to get her out, the cord had no extra give, and disconnected from the placenta and she bled to death. Unfortunetly there is nothing that could of prevented it, they tried to revive her for 30min and it was just to late.
Its only just been alittle over a month, She was my first baby. I was soo excited to have alittle girl, and ask and wonder everyday why this had to happen to me. I am so thankful that the nurses had called the NILMDTS photographer and was able to get these amazing photos of my little princess! I will be forever greatful to her!
sorry this got really long..if you made it this far thank you for reading.
