Hi everyone! I am a single mom of three wonderful children, all of which I've adopted due to several losses and infertility issues. I am also an aspiring photographer, but by no means a professional one. I am touched by this organization and the people that belong to it. I lost my great nephew to Trisomy 18 two years ago and I wish that my nephew and his wife has known of NILMDTS. They only have a few snapshots of their time with Elijah. I would be honored to be a part of this organization as a photographer. My question is this....Would my services be welcomed as an amature photographer?
God Bless you all!

Welcome Jolie! We are so glad to have you! :)
I want to express my sincere condolences for you, your nephew and his wife for the losses you have all experienced. There are never the right words to say, other than many of us here have shared that grief and know all to well the pain that is felt.
Two years ago, NILMDTS was very much in the beginning phases and although we tried as hard as we possibly could to gain awareness through out the US and abroad, awareness is simply something that takes time. I too wish you and your family had known of us at that time. You know about us now, and you can be of great help and resource to families in your community who find themselves faced with the loss of their precious baby.
Again, welcome to our NILMDTS 'family'! :)
PS: Your childeren are so cute! Bet they keep you busy!!~
Jolie, I can't speak to current standards, but when I joined you had to have a website and sample images of your work with babies. There is a review process, but please apply! With your personal knowledge (and I am so sorry that you have personal knowledge...) of the pain and sorrow these families feel, you are a great resource for NILMDTS!

Jolie,
I would encourage you to go ahead and apply for an affiliate photographer. If you do not have a web site or an online image sharing site where your work can be reviewed, an email will be sent to you requesting images to be sent by email for review.

I'll support what Dale just said. The only way to find out if your skills are developed to a level that we would be comfortable to send you on a session, is to apply and then submit images to us when your are asked. We can not guarantee that you'll be accepted, as we must be sure that the work we provide to our families is of a professional level
