Just joined this forum, i found out about you as i have been a member of trisomy 18 support forum for over 2 years now.
I am a 40 year old mam from Cumbria, England, i am married and my husband is 42yrs old, we have seven children, six with us on earth and our Angel Joshua Malachi who died June 2006 at nearly 5 weeks old from Trisomy 18.
We do not have anything like NILMDTS in the UK and i'm sure there would be many families who would sadly benefit from a service like yours. We were lucky in the respect that we had time with our son ( be it not long enough:( ) and have a lot of photographs to cherish of him.
It would be lovely to hear from anyone else who has been affected by this devasting conditon.
Thanks for reading.
Bernie

Just want to say WELCOME. This is a great forum and the people are wonderful. I have four children in Heaven and one 2 yr. old on earth. My children were all born early as I develope pre-eclampsia. Our last one, Kaden died in April of this year at 5 weeks b/c he was born at 24 weeks and was just too early. He is our last as I almost died myself. My heart goes out to you and your husband. I hope to get to know you well through this site. I do not know what trisomy 18 is, but have seen it posted quite often from other parents on this site, I am sure you will find great support.

I also had a child with trisomy 18, she was born 6/23/08 and passed 4 days later on my 46th birthday. I have 4 other children, ages 14, 18, 21 and 25. This has been a devastating loss for my husband and I. We were not given much hope of having a live birth. We were so happy when we were able to bring her home for 2 days. She passed peacfully in her daddy's arms, with the rest of us around her.

Trisomy 18 for those who are not aware, it is 3 chromazones on the 18th instead of two. This condition is not compatable with life, some babies live
a little longer than others, but most die before birth or shortly after

I am so sorry you have also had to suffer this awful tragedy in your family. When Joshua was diagnosed prenatally, we met with a awful paediatrician who kept telling us how our son was 'incompatiable with life' i hate that term as i feel it shouldn't be used, our son lived nearly 5 weeks surely if he was not mean't to live, none of these babies would survive at all ? Our little boys life was as important as all our living children and we had to give him the same chance as they got.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My brother had T-18. They are very special babies. Did you get any pics of your own. Would love to meet your angel!
