Baby update

So, I had an appointment today and it went well. The doctor agreed to not make me wait 4 more weeks for an ultrasound. He's scheduled me for my ultrasound at 22 weeks, then he said we'll do more later, including a level 2 high resolution scan around 27 or 28 weeks.

I'm so relieved - I don't think I have the fortitude to wait 4 more weeks, so two sounds just fine with me.

He found the heartbeat right away, and said everything else seems fine. I guess this one is making it easy for me. I hope that continues! Whew...one more appointment out of the way!

I am glad everything went well. I know every app. I go to I get so nervous even though I am pretty sure nothing will go wrong you never know. I am so glad they have done extra ultrasounds on me. I go for my 4d at 28 weeks which I go on thursdays and that will fall on Marcus' first birthday and I don't think I could do it that day emotionally so they will have to do it a few days earlier. I can't wait until u see your baby.

Oh Beth I am so happy for you to have received good news today !! I have been thinking of you all day and praying for your little one. I can't imagine the emotions you experienced today, it is so wonderful that you were able to leave with your nerves (just a little) more calm and a little more joy in your heart. I pray that every doctor's visit goes as well as today and that soon you will have a beautiful healthy baby in your arms....Kavya will be a big sister soon !!

I agree. Two weeks is just about as long as my nerves can take. Even though they only schedule me for an u/s every four weeks, I still show up at my OB's begging for the dopplar after two.

I think God will give you what you need and not want. I figured that one out finally. Couldn't understand why he would want me to suffer through this pregnancy being scared but I am so excited to have a lil reese's cup now!! Everything will be fine. There will be alot of new babies faces on here around the same time.

Hi everyone, my scan is this morning. I'm terrified. I could hardly sleep last night. I've felt just sick all morning. I can't stop crying. This was a horrible day for me when I was pregnant with Kavya - the big ultrasound. We got terrible news, and I've been almost reliving those moments all morning. I can't even get too excited about the possibility of finding out the sex of this baby - I'm too busy being scared, remembering Kavya, reliving the past.

I'll let you all know how it goes when I get home this afternoon after my therapy appointment. Please say a little prayer for my baby.

So...I have a few minutes before I head to my next appointment, but want to let you all know that everything looked fine! She said that she saw everything she needed to see at this point, that everything looked perfect (she couldn't get a clear enough view of the heart, but no reason to suspect problems) and...

IT'S A BOY!!!!! I can't believe it after 2 girls! I haven't stopped laughing all the way home, and every time I tell someone! And of course Priya is not surprise - she keeps saying "I was right, see I told you it's a boy".

Anyway, I'm just on cloud nine - so relieved- at least until I find somethig else to worry about! :)

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes, congrats and prayers. I guess nothing can completely ease my anxiety until I have our son in my arms, and even then...who knows what my crazy worrying mind will come up with.

I've been looking at boy names all day today, and it is much harder for me than girl names! We're going to go with an east Indian name again, like we did with Kavya and Priya, but the boys' names I can find aren't nearly as "handsome" as the girls names are beautiful!

Anyway, I'm still feeling good today, and hope I continue to feel upbeat and positive. Thanks again everyone!

I didn't post after my last appointment. But, it went well. We had my glucose test (no gestational diabetes this time) and an iron test (I'm anemic and now on an additional iron supplement). We also got to hear baby's heartbeat again, though he's already a little troublemaker. Dr. G. was moving the wand around trying to find his heartbeat but he was moving around too much. Then suddenly, "whump" baby boy kicked the wand spot-on. He did this two more times. By the third, my doctor was laughing "Well, he's letting us know he's in there!". Finally, we heard the heart the beat (but only for a few seconds before he was on the move again) and everything sounded great.

This is what I go through every day - Dr. G. said I may not be feeling him kick every day yet, and I'm like "What? I feel him move all the time!" I'm getting movement several times a day for periods of 1/2 to 1 hour, and then the additional stray kicks here and there through the rest of the day. He said that was good, too. I think he's just trying to keep me calm!

Anyway, I'm scheduled for the next (level 2) ultrasound on the 3rd of Dec. Pretty nervous, but I do feel good about things for now (it's an emotional roller coaster). And we set a tentative delivery day - Monday February 16th. So my counter is a week off now...I hope the next few months fly by, but I know they will not - the closer you get to your due date the slower time seems to pass. Anyway that's all the news for now!

Hey everyone -

Just want to give an update again. We had our level 2 ultrasound done this morning, and everything was great. Baby was right on in weight - 2 lbs 9 oz at 28 wks 1 day. They checked everything REALLY closely and saw no problems. Heart rate was 150bmp. They couldn't see his manly bits again because he was in a prayer position - knees bent under is bottom, and his hands were folded up bay his face. He moved a bit, but stayed in that position - the best she could say was that she thought she saw his scrotum. I wanted another confirmation, but the first US where they showed he was a boy was clearly all boy.

ANYway, he was head-down, has big chunky cheeks and long feet. And his face is so pretty - we didn't get the 4D done, but the image is really clear, and he is so pretty - and he looks like he's smiling! I'll try to scan an image and post it.

OK finally got them scanned - sorry took me a while. Here is the pic we have of his face. The scanned image isn't as clear as the original, but you can still see his sweet little face. Chin to the left, and you can see his lips right under his nose, and one eye (the other is in a bit of shadow). You can also see his shoulder to the bottom and his arm folded up with his little hand folded right by his cheek.

OKAY, new update - finally set a concrete date for delivery! Tuesday February 17th at 9 am (which means he'll be born closer to 9:30) sounds like a good time to have a baby! I'm glad I have that end date...it means I have less than 7 weeks now!

Everything sounded and looked good at my appointment. I don't go back for 3 weeks unless there's a problem. Another US in 5 or 6 weeks to check on the little guy again.
