Hi Everyone,
A friend of a friend lost her grandson last year. He was 4 years old and passed away in a drowning accident. She is looking for an online support group for her son, the boy's Dad. He's having a super hard time. Do any of you have knowledge of a support group that can help him? Due to the little boy's age, I didn't refer them here.
As always, thank you,
Tammy

Actually I think this would be a great place as a resource. True, most of us here have experienced the loss of an infant, but losing a child at any age is so heartbreaking. We have a dad's room here on the forum called "Father Knows Best" Please invite this heartbroken father to join us. We also have some wonderful dad's out there who offer great advice. It would be a refuge for him to express his emotions.

You can also refer him to the MISS Foundation Website. [Mothers in sympathy and support] Depending on where he lives, there might also be a local support group. This is also geared to fathers...

My local church here offered several names of support groups that were in my area. You might have him call his local church if he hasnt already.

That just breaks my heart. What a tragedy. While I can say that he would be welcome here, I'm sure, he may be more comfortable with a support group that caters to parents that have lost older children. I think Compassionate Friends could be a good resource - I've heard wonderful things about their groups, but have never attended for just the opposite reason - most of those people have lost someone that is older. I hope he is able to find something. I will say a prayer for them today.
