Hi everyone,
I'm here not as a parent who has had a baby born still (though I have had a loss), but as a photographer who would cherish the opportunity to help grieving parents bond during the few moments they have with their baby. I have a gallery on Etsy where you could see examples of my work. I realize that not everyone who wants to join NILMDTS is accepted.
I don't know if I'm allowed to share my gallery link on here. It is a business link. If I can then I will edit this post.
Best to you,
Renee

Thank you, Kirk. I will get to that in the next few days. I have college finals next week so I am too busy to get too deep into anything right now.

No problem. it only takes a couple minutes to fill out. Hey, you're located just a few miles from my Hometown, Pekin. If you are as good as Jeff and Julia, you'll be a shoe in.

Okay, I'm looking it over now. I don't know if I'm considered a professional photographer. I've sold copies of my work, and I consider my online store a part-time job but I don't have a photography degree. Should I join as a Parent or as an Affliated Photographer?
Sorry if that's a silly question. :o

If you want to do sessions, then you need to join as an Affiliated Photographer

Okay, one last question. I don't have a states sales tax license number. I sell my photography through Etsy (http://www.etsy.com), which is sort of like an online mall of handmade and artistic goods. Is it okay if I turn in my application now to get my review started? Or should I wait until I've applied for a sales tax license?
Thanks!

Now, most of the info I'm going to share, here, is targeted to everyone that is reading this.
If you are selling items that remain in Illinois, or whatever state you may be located in, and your state has a sales tax, then by law, you must have a sales tax number, and you must be collecting tax. Regardless of how much you might be selling your work for, even if it is just at cost. You still must be collecting and payiong sales tax. In most states, the application is very easy, and there is no cost. If you don't though, then the cost can be very steep.
Often, you can apply for your state online.

Good information to know! There was nothing like that on the other website. I'll get a number then turn in the application to you.
