The Chicago Tribune has posted this article about Brielle Sofia Dobervich on their web site as of December 28, 2008. http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/lifestyle/chi-now-i-lay-me-better-1228dec28,0,5372990.story However I did not see the article in last Sunday's paper.

Beautiful! The paper version is always the best, I think. How did you get this into PDF? I have original copies of the article on NILMDTS featuring Kavya and another baby here locally, but I'm not sure how to get a PDF version - the article is so big, and the online version didn't feature any of the pictures done by the NILMDTS photographer.

How did you get this into PDF?
Someone told me once. "You won't get a cookie if you don't ask." Just go back to the reporter or the news paper itself and just ask them. The worst they could say is no. I have done this each time we have had an article run out here.

I can give you a loaf of bread, and you will eat for a day. Or, i can teach you how to bake that loaf of bread, and you will eat forever. Go to www.pdf995.com and download their free software. you can then create your own PDFs as easily as you would print any document.

Kirk,
I make pdf files in photoshop. Is this not a correct way to do them?

Yes Kirk you are correct. However news paper articles scanned in and made into a PDF does not have quality as the original layout from the source. I was not trying to be cute with my quote. I REALLY do not like my quote. I dislike the person that said it to me but it is true a lot of the time.

Thanks Dave C. you would have done the same. NILMDTS HQ asked me to work with the reporter. It is hard to say no to Jess Roe. ;-)
OBTW Chris Barrack converted the large PDF with an unsightly ad into the current form. Thank you Chris.

What I was referri9ng to, Dave, is that when the paper publishes the article on their website, you can then simply print that page, but, instead of choosing your printer you choose this software and it creates a pdf from the web page.

I use cutepdf (from www.cutepdf (http://www.%3Cb%3Ecutepdf%3C/b%3E).com). Also free, and works well for me.
The software lets me print documents (or images) as .pdfs from any website, my office suite, my editing software, and any other application that has a print option - I'm not familiar with the one Kirk posted, but it sounds as if it works the same way.

Christine,
You can make pdfs in PS, but, you have to have the image loaded into PS to do that. with one of these software products, it actually loads onto your computer as a printer. So, if you want to even turn a word document, etc., into a pdf, you simply go to File/Print and select this as your printer. You can print web pages, documents, whatever you can send to a printer, you can turn into a pdf.

David-You are welcome. I didn't care for the ads as they were a distraction to the article. I did open the orig pdf in photoshop to cut out those ads. The image quality of the one you posted on the forum is not great quality as it is a jpg and reduced-sorry.
Kirk-Thanks. I just always opended files in photoshop for pdf conversion so I wasn't sure. Makes sense to me now.

That is so awesome. Just to read about this organization is great, but it's also good to make the national public aware of our situations. Everyone thinks getting pregnant is the hard part, no one ever thinks or talks about losing a child.

Susanne;
I hope there wasn't any thing in the article that upset you. I am very sorry for your loss of Katelyn Grace. Peace be with you.

David,
Oh no, nothing in the article upset me. It's just that no one knows about what we are going through b/c no one talks about it. Everyone thinks having a baby is just simply a happy experience. I know I did until I lost Katelyn. I never ever thought I would lose her. Of course, having a baby should just be a happy experience, but there are so many things that can go wrong. I am just happy that this article was featured in such a prominent newspaper. It's good to make people aware of us. Thanks, David.

Oh, no. I am definitely not a photographer!! My husband likes to think he is! :-) Brandy Brown here in Indy was our photographer for Katelyn, and she did a wonderful job.
