Have any of you ever experienced a subchorionic hematoma? If so, what was the outcome? I apparently have this condition (like I need another cause to be high risk!) and my dr. is not very hopeful.

It sounds like a blood clot under the placenta? I haven't heard of it specifically. I know at least one other mommy on this forum who had a blood clot under her placenta -- she was on bedrest for quite a few weeks, but eventually it resolved and so far she and baby are doing fine.
It sounds like you are having so much stress, Jennifer -- gosh, I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it go away. But please know I'll be praying for you and baby and your whole family. Keep us updated

I think Jennifer is right, or at least close. "Sub" means under, "chorionic" means having to do with the placenta or membranes associated with it, and "hematoma" is a bruise, swelling or pooling of blood usually associated with an injury. (I had to get out the dictionary to write this post!) It's necessarily life-threatening, but I can see why your doctor would want to watch you carefully.
Sending healing thoughts your way!

SCH or Subchorionic Hematoma is a gathering of blood between the membranes of the placenta and the uterus. A more technical name is the chorion. Some doctors will also just refer to it as a blood clot.
I also read that most of the time if the doctors decide to they will just give you a blood thinner or sometimes your body will just absorb it.
Some doctors prefer a ‘wait and see’ approach while others choose to use medications. Blood thinners such as: aspirin, Lovenox (inj), Coumadin and Heparin (inj) are used in attempts to ‘bleed’ the clot out. Estrogen and Progesterone therapy is also sometimes used to aid in the development of the pregnancy.
hope this helps. I just googled it.
Hang in there and get lots of rest

Thanks to all for your input. I had another ultrasound in the ER on Sunday and there were no signs of it to be found. What a relief!
