Happy Birthday Hannah

Today was Hannah's 8th birthday. I did mostly okay. Kayla (6) is the only one who really showed any interest, besides me. She wrote her a letter and we bought 8 helium balloons and she decorated her balloon with an adorable smiley face and hearts and wrote "Happy Burthday Hannah I love you Love, Kayla" on the other side. (I thought it was so cute she spelled it "burthday"). Then we tied the letter to the string and I wrote little messages on the rest of the balloons and the kids and I went out back. my H was home but he chose to just watch the first 4 and then went inside. So we all let the first four go and the wind blew them behind the trees so we couldn't see them really once they got out of our yard. So we let the 2nd four go and we were able to watch three of them get pretty far before they were blocked by the trees. I feel like it's finally reached the point where everybody has forgotten her. My husband doesn't care anymore (at least he doesn't EVER show it), my mother forgot about it until yesterday when I mentioned getting the balloons, and only two people- one from here (where I don't expect people to pay attention to dates that much) and one friend- mentioned it at all. I guess I shouldn't expect people to remember, after all we do have 3 more kids, our life has gone on so I must be over it by now, right? Sometimes I feel like that's what people think.

You will always remember... as you should. I go on my own to Tristan's grave. My husband thinks I am crazy (I think) but I don't really care. Yes, It would be nice to have him with me, but I guess I can't make him. I am hoping next year Trinity will be with me to help(she'll be only 16 mo. then)... I am pretty sure it will matter to her more as she grows and understands more. On Tristan's birth and angel days... no one really says anything. I don't know if they remember or not... it is frusterating, all I want is people to realize how special my baby is, even if he isn't here with me...

I truly hope your day was ok, and I know Hannah appreciated the balloons from you and Kayla. Happy Birthday again Hannah!!!

This is so weird, but I thought of you 3 or 4 times today. I was at a conference in Downtown Denver displaying NILMDTS information, and just kept thinking about you. Now I know why...

Jen, you're in my thoughts and prayers. I still remember my angel every year around the time for his birthday. At Christmas he will be 25. You never forget.

We should start an Angel Calendar. We could put the babies birthdays on it and the mothers e-mail address. Then we could send a little note on that special day.

It would be really cool if a reminder would go out automatically to everyone, the day before.
Any thought on how to do this? Kirk???? I know other forums have a calendar how can we use ours?

I'm sorry so few remembered Hannah's birthday. You're a good mom for finding your own way to celebrate for your baby girl. I try to remember that the reason other people don't remember like I do is because they didn't love my babies like I do. And that's ok. It means I've got something special that they don't.

Jen,
I also wish Hannah a happy angel birthday. I am sorry that I am so caught up in my own grief and energy in remembering my daughter, that I hardly pay attention to anything else. Sometimes I want to wear a big sign to remind everyone of her. No one ask or say anything about her, except to say how well I look! Well maybe I'll start looking bad so they will ask why.
